I have been teaching Violin since 2014, and teaching Cello since 2017, and I love it!
During Secondary School, I played Violin and Cello in numerous ensembles, was both the Strings Captain and Music Captain, and I started up and ran a Chamber Strings group for 2-3 years at the school. During that Chamber Strings Group, I also mentored and taught students Violin and Cello.
I have played in numerous orchestras and ensembles, including playing 1st Violin in the 2017 Victorian State Schools Spectacular Orchestra, playing Violin in a production of 'Beauty & the Beast' in 2018, playing 1st Violin in the Frankston Symphony Orchestra in 2019, playing in high level orchestras on Violin for four and Cello for two annual Melbourne Youth Orchestra Summer Schools, and playing Cello in a Quartet from 2018-2019.

Aimee

My name is Aimee and I am passionate about live performance and song writing.
  • Currently working at AMEB grade 7-8 flute.
  • I have completed VCE Music Styles and Composition and VCE Music Performance for Flute in 2017.
  • Currently studying a Bachelor of Music and Secondary Education at Monash University.
  • Selected to compose for 'Stories in the Wall' with Arts Centre Melbourne.

I began playing the flute in 2005, gaining certificates up to AMEB grade 5 before completing my VCE Music Performance unit in Flute, working at grade 7-8. I have engaged in contemporary voice lessons from 2010 and guitar lessons from 2012, specialising particularly in singer/songwriter material (including my own work) and fingerstyle playing. I have played many of the songs I have written with a pop/rock band in which I played guitar, sung a mixture of lead and backing vocals and also occasionally played keytar too. At the moment my main focus is working in a duo, in which I primarily sing lead vocals, performing at weddings, events, restaurants and festivals.

Trumpet and Song Writing/Music Composition Teacher

Colin

Hey, I'm Colin and I'd love to spread the joy of self expression through music!
  • I am currently working at an AMEB grade 6 - 7 on Trumpet.
  • I have completed Higher Level Music in the International Baccalaureate (IB).
  • Runner up and winner of the People's Choice award in the MSO’s Pizzicato Effect Community Music Program 2018.
  • Currently studying a Bachelor of Music and Secondary Education at Monash University.

I've been learning to play the Trumpet for about 5 years now, and I'm having a great time! I've also picked up Trombone as a second instrument. Throughout high school, I was enrolled in a variety of ensembles, each one different in style and genre. As a result, I'm confident in playing a large range of genres! I've also been dubbed a teacher's assistant in most of the Junior Brass Ensembles I've participated in, since I'm able to communicate complex ideas in ways that are much easier to understand.

Composing music is a huge part of my life, and I'm constantly looking for new inspiration and ways to improve my writing! I'm extremely passionate about songwriting and composition, because I feel that music is an excellent form of expression, and can be very beneficial to the development of one's mind. I tend to not fall into just one genre of music writing, since I listen to a wide variety of music. However, I excel particularly at writing music for entertainment mediums such as video games and film, as well as some more mainstream jazz.

Although being a solo classical pianist my whole life, Cello has been my secondary instrument and I enjoy duets and also playing with an ensemble. From school, I have developed experience with genres of rock, pop, and jazz, and I enjoy teaching these various genres to other people.

Anusha

Hello, my name is Anusha and I am very passionate about music!
I started learning saxophone over 8 years ago, after hearing someone play the instrument live and then wanting to learn it. I played throughout high school in various ensembles and through the enjoyable experiences I had, I knew I wanted to continue my learning and music-making journey in University.

I am currently a 3rd year Bachelor of Music student specialising in composition and music technology. At University, I continue to play saxophone in various ensembles and I am constantly striving to improve my skills. Up until now, I have been focusing more on classical saxophone and I hope to complete my AMus soon.

I love teaching and hope to eventually become a Secondary School teacher after completing my undergraduate degree and starting a Masters in Education. I would love to teach and share my passion for Saxophone and music with you!
