In 2019 we had our first Performance Practice Day, where students had the opportunity to practice performing to other students, before the end of year concert!
This was designed to be a low stakes environment without the pressure of family and friends watching, where the focus was just having a go, having fun, learning and developing performance skills and strategies, and giving each other positive feedback. Students learnt performance skills and strategies in lessons, and then on the day, they just performed whatever song/s they were currently working on.
The day was a great success, students gained more confidence in performing, practiced their performance skills, got to meet others who also played their instrument, and got to eat some yummy food at the end! 😃🎶🎻🎸
